Alan Brown awarded OAM

(Leslie) Alan Brown, or Young Alan as he prefers to be known, was recently honoured by receiving an Order of Australia Medal in the 2009 Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Young Alan is the founding chairman and director of The Brown and Hurley Group Pty Ltd, and has been recognised for his services to the trucking industry and his hometown of Kyogle in NSW.
He has been previously recognised for his efforts by being inducted into the National Road Transport Hall of Fame in 2000, and has also been a councillor of the New South Wales Motor Traders’ Association and Australian Automobile Dealers’ Association. He is a life member of the Kyogle Lions Club, a former president of the Kyogle Chamber of Commerce and former councillor and deputy president of Kyogle Shire.
